With the introduction of safety and emission requirements, the automotive industry is constantly looking for new materials and technologies. Over time, a number of materials have been tested and adopted, meaning automotive manufactures have a plethora of material types and variants to choose from. Aluminium, magnesium, carbon fibre, plastic, steel - these are only a few of the conventional materials being used today. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, a new generation of vehicles is demanding new material solutions to reduce weight, improve safety performance and lower costs. To meet this demand, Aperam launched MaX - a new grade of Advanced High Strength Stainless Steels (AHSS).
