It is a versatile reaction to reduce nitroarenes for preparing nitrogen-containing compounds such as hydroxyamines and anilines. Despite metal-based reductions such as Raney Ni and so on have been extensively investigated, non-metal reduction under mild conditions has been targeted to adjust the functional group tolerance.
