Research progress on graphene-containing composite materials as adsorbent

As a new form of carbonaceous material, graphene has unique electrical, electrochemical, optical and mechanical properties, including large specific surface area, high electron mobility, good chemical stability and so on. In the past few years, we have seen intense interest in graphene and graphene-containing composite materials as new adsorbents in water treatment. This paper reviews the recent work on graphene and graphene-containing composite materials as adsorbent and discusses adsorption capacity of graphene-containing composite materials for organic pollutants and metal ions. The future development trend in this field is also proposed.
