In the recent years, the attention to focused on environmental pollution has been increased. At present, semiconductor photocatalyst has highly attracted due to its efficiency to eliminate organic pollutants from aqueous solution. Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) is well known type of inorganic compound with general formula M_(1?x)2+Mx~(3+)(OH)2(An~?).mH2O. The LDH is a unique material that consist of positively charged brucite-like host layers which can be applicable to anion exchange. In the case of metal nanoparticle-semiconductor hybrids, plasmon induced electron injection may occur at the interface to enhance its photocatalytic activities. This study reviews the synthesis, properties and applications of ZnAl LDH materials for photocatalyst application.
