Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease of the tropical regions of the world. There are 50 to 100 million cases of dengue infections reported per year worldwide, and 2.5 billion people are living in dengue endemic regions. Dengue virus (DENV) have four different serotypes, infection with any DENV serotype generates long lasting immunity against it. Non neutralizing antibody binding to other serotypes of DENV causes antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) of the disease that increases severity of disease in exposure to other DENV serotype, due to this phenomena there is no vaccine available for dengue virus. There is an urgent need of a highly specific and cross neutralizing antibody that could neutralize all four serotype of viruses and at the same time avoid the antibody dependent enhancement of disease.
