The micromilling operations are mainly employed for the manufacturing of micro-sized or high accuracy features. In the case of dental prostheses, tight tolerances have to be obtained during their manufacturing in order to achieve passive fitting to the implants located on the patient's jaw. This point is required in order not to generate pain or even the rejection of the implants due to the clamping stresses. However, errors generated during micromilling due to tool wear can lead to unacceptable geometries, producing a high cost due to the waste of resources and machine time.
