A Study on Transformation from Industry Enterprises Talents to Independent Colleges Teachers: AT College Case

This paper reports on a case-based study that explored the transformation about introduction of the faculty member from industry enterprise (IFMIE) to college teachers at an independent college (AT College). IFMIEs should be motivated to engage both in teaching and research professional development (TRPD) with equilibrium point, which can train IFMIEs into eventual postsecondary educators and qualified independent college teachers. The results give measures and suggestions to the faculty developers at independent college which can help them to motivate the faculty, especially for IFMIEs, to be attracted in recruitment and participate in TRPD. IFMIEs consider that teamwork provides effective TRPD for them to help remedy theory and practice incompetence, which made it be very meaningful for transforming to college teachers. A framework for motivating more faculty members at independent college to engage in TRPD, such as the innovation of recruitment and teamwork, is provided.
