Over the past ten years, there has been a significant increase in publications devoted to the study of properties, production and use of ice slurry. Production of ice slurry by spraying water at the pressure below 611 PA allows controlling the size of droplet, and the rarefied environment distorts the spherical shape of droplet less. The model takes into account the heat and mass transfer in evaporating drop of water at the pressure below the triple point, change in the phase state and thermal properties depending on temperature. Mass transfer is described with the equation of water vapor diffusion. The analytical model based on Fick's law and the law of energy conservation for the calculation of time process are considered. An overview of physical processes associated with the evaporation of water droplet at the pressure below the triple point, processes of its cooling and its freezing is presented. On the basis of this model, analytical studies of the droplet freezing in vacuum at different initial parameters and conditions of the process are carried out. The model allows estimating the change in the mass of droplet during the crystallization process. The model can be useful in designing a vacuum evaporation plant to produce ice slurry.
