By using the static blowdown method conditional clearances in closed self-acting valves of slow-speed compressor stages are defined, the assessment of faulty sealing in standard valves with metal structural elements compared to the similar design valves containing parts made from elastomers is made. The influence of a valve leakage on the operating process of a slow-speed compressor stages is estimated.
