Aiming at some shortcomings of the traditional image fusion algorithm, this article presents multi-focus image fusion algorithm based on Contourlet transform. For the two multi-focus images, we did Contourlet transform to get the Contourlet coefficients of different resolution levels, including low frequency and high frequency components. Using Contourlet transform, we separated the low frequency band and high frequency band of the image. For low frequency component, used the average fusion algorithm to obtain the correlation coefficient, for high frequency components, and we used the maximum absolute value algorithm to get the correlation coefficient, dealing with the two correlational coefficients by fusion. Compared with the traditional multi-focus image fusion algorithms, the experimental results show that this algorithm enhances the performance ability of the image in detail.
