Potential problem on the evaluation of blue light hazard (BLH) using the photometric data was evaluated based on a computer-simulation analysis. It is found that variation of K_(B,v) values of simulated white sources comprising three LEDs with different peak wavelength and bandwidth are often beyond the currently-defined safety factor for the sources with lower CCT, and smaller variation of K_(B,v) can be expected for those with higher CCT. Based on the general tendency of K_(B,v) variation depending on the CCT of the sources, reasonable d_(uv) range for white sources to be targeted is estimated, and a mathematical modelling, CCT-dependent safety factors and corresponded simplified threshold luminance table are proposed and discussed to improve the BLH risk estimation by means of photometry.
