The sediment concentration of the high-speed flow through the Sediment Tunnels of the Xiaolangdi Project on the Yellow River is close to 1 000 kg/m3 at utmost; the sand grain size distribution is relative thin; the water flow is three-phase by water,sand and air with flow speed up to 40 m/s.All of these bring huge challenges on the on-line monitoring of the sediment concentration.In this paper,the vibration method is used to realize on-line monitoring of the sediment concentration contained in the hyper-concentration flow.The sampling obtained from the device in the high-speed flow is diverted into the fixed steel tube,through monitoring the changes of the steel tube natural frequency to realize the online measurement of high sediment concentration in high speed flow,which provides the very important monitoring information for the water-sediment regulation of the Yellow River,sedimentation reduction,and regulation of the reservoir.
