Impact of biofeedback therapy on cognitive functions in patients with chronic cerebrovascular diseases

Introduction: Successful treatment in patients with cerebrovascular disease is one of main goals in neurology. Cognitive impairment may be one of harmful syndrome in patients without previous stroke [5]. Moreover, stroke leads to poor outcome rehabilitation and problem of social adaptation [3]. Range of methods reducing these defects is spread. Treatment includes different branches: drugs, ergotherapy, stimulation and other.This trial performs attempt to define optimal complex of treatment in patients with cognitive impairment and contains some results of treatment in patients with chronic cerebral vascular diseaes. Intensification of rehabilitative process was a goal of this investigation. Complex including pharmacological treatment and rhythmic stimulation based on biofeedback was undertaken for comparison investigation in similar group of patients. Efficacy of treatments was evaluated by clinical neurological scales and tools for assessment of cognitive impairment.
