In the present investigation, wall-to-bed mass transfer coefficient data were obtained in a fluidized bed electrochemical reactor in the presence of an angled disc promoter internal. Limiting current technique has been used for measurement of mass transfer coefficient. Glass spheres of three different diameters viz., 2.93, 4.24 and 5.62 mm were used as bed material. The liquid phase employed was an electrolyte belonging to ferricyanide-ferrocyanide redox system. Angled discs arranged on a coaxially placed central rod with different pitches and disc diameters were used as turbulent promoter elements. The mass transfer coefficient data were found to increase with disc diameter and particle diameter and to decrease with pitch and disc angle. The rod diameter had not shown any effect. A correlation has been obtained for mass transfer coefficient by regression analysis.
