Track circuit is used for track free/occupied determination and ground-to-train information transmission in Chinese Train Control System. Track circuit detects the train presence on a given section. It is also used to transmit, over a specific carrier frequency, a lot of information to the computer on board, such as how many block sections is free in front of the train. Track circuit is a vital factor in railway safety on high-speed lines. This paper presents a simulation model of ZPW-2000 jointless track circuit based on the theory of uniform transmission line and linear quadripole. The circuit between shunt point and transmitter is considered as a succession of quadripoles. The quadripoles model of each component is given. A kind of numerical algorithm of shunt current simulation is established with MATLAB. The Simulation signal and measured data in practice are in substantial agreement. It proves that the simulation model and algorithm are correct and practical.
