The Similarities and Differences between Plato's Republic and the Analects of Confucius and the effects on Education

摘要

This paper aims to compare the similarities and contrast the differences between Plato's Republic and the Analects of Confucius,and to find their effects on education.In these two different kinds of systems,there are very interesting and useful methods and ideas.They gave different natures of knowledge and the limits of knowledge involving both advantages and disadvantages respectively.Some important common conclusions were got in different ways and with different concepts,so we can use their different means to impress students deeply in teaching.Plato and Confucius' different teaching styles will be very useful to help teachers and students in dealing with difficult questions.
