Reactive adsorption desulfurization technology is an effective method to remove sulfur compounds in fossil fuel. This work investigated the reactive adsorption desulfurization of a hydrotreated diesel (total sulfur: 1009.68 mg/L) over a Ni/ZnO/SiO2-Al2O3 adsorbent in a fixed bed reactor. The effects of the preparation method, mass ratio of the complex metal oxides in the adsorbent, content of Ni, adsorption conditions of the adsorbent were examined, and the desulfurization performance of the adsorbent was tested. The results indicate that Ni/ZnO/Al2O3-SiO2 has good adsorption efficiency. The breakthrough (10 mg/L S) adsorptive capacity of the adsorbent reaches 3.49 %.
