Using data from scale model tests for a wide range of conditions wave reflection of smooth impermeable and rough permeable slopes has been analysed. It is shown that the spectral mean wave period T_(m.1,0) is a more appropriate parameter to predict the reflection coefficient than the peak wave period T_p. The reflection coefficient of rough permeable slopes has been shown to show an additional dependency on the structure slope. The expression of Seelig and Ahrens (1981) has been recalibrated for the use of T_(m-1,0) also accounting for the additional slope dependency. An alternative exponential expression has been developed which predicts the reflection coefficient equally well. Because of the more simple appearance the authors prefer this alternative expression. It may provide better opportunities to include correction factors for other structural aspects such as a low crest level or berms.
