摘要

In this paper, an approach was presented to solve the reliability based design optimization (RBDO) for laminated composites considering both in-plane damage and delamination. The approach was based on particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) and Finite element method (FEM). The total weight of the laminate was taken as the objective function, and the fibre directional angle and thickness ratio were treated as design variables. A numerical example was worked out and the results revealed that the proposed approach is effective for the probabilistic optimization design of laminates.
