An undergraduate Chemistry and Chemical Engineering applied Ordinary Differential EquationsSample Workbook is presented here.Based on solving problems oriented learning, this textbook develops a general strategy for modelingseveral simple dynamic processes through ordinary differential equations. For example: first andsecond order chemical reactions, mixing in tanks, continuous stirred tank reactors, oscillatorymechanical and electrical systems, velocity and acceleration (classical mechanics).One objective is, according to the mission of the Mathematics Department of the Chemistry Faculty ofNational Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), to contribute to the formation of chemistryprofessionals providing them a solid foundation basis, and enable them to apply mathematics insolving problems and developing models to describe phenomena related to their profession.The present sample workbook is designed to be used by Chemistry students who are approaching tothe systematic study of ordinary differential equations.The experience obtained after several years of teaching this subject the Faculty of Chemistry (UNAM),told us of none of the excellent available books already published covered the practical approachrequired by our students.The proposal of this book is focused on shortening the exposition of theoretical foundations of ordinarydifferential equations.This contribute to increase the time dedicated to pose, build, solve and discuss mathematical modelsof diverse dynamic phenomena which the students will learn and face, to solve problems related withseveral subjects of the degree curricular maps offered in this Faculty.
