摘要

Brillouin scattering is a nondestructive optical measurement that can be used to test the elastic properties of materials precisely, i.e. elastic constant, viscosity, and etc. In this paper, we report a backscattering configuration to measure the elastic constants of a series of opaque Mg-Nd alloys in different aging time. The elastic constants, C_(11) and C_(12), increase sharply with the increase of aging time, while after 16 hours, C_(11) and Cn tend to be stable. It indicates that aging time can improve elastic properties of Mg-Nd alloy, which explains the change of texture, in a certain time range.
