In plate cooling, the flow behavior of cooling water on plate, which is one of influential factors on the heat transfer, varies with the water flow density and plate width. In order to improve accuracy of plate temperature control, a heat transfer model was developed that considers flow behavior of cooling water on plate. The developed heat transfer model was optimized based on multi-point plate temperature measurements, including temperature measurements on upper and lower surfaces of recuperated process after cooling. As a result of applying this model to actual cooling control, highly accurate plate temperature control has been achieved.
