Imperatives for a Project Leadership in the Hyperdynamic Business Environment

Volatility, fluctuations, uncertainty, instability etc. are the words representing the effects of one single cause - 'Change'. A change is happening at a great speed in all walks of life in this interconnected world, decreeing a changed order of doing business which, inter-alia includes projects. Because of this extra-ordinary situation, new set of challenges are confronted by leadership teams, be it for project or enterprise. It is therefore mandatory for the leaders to deep dive into the major areas of change in global scenario, identify changes required in their traits and styles to act fast and proactively in implementing these changes, yet managing to control the extra dosage of risks associated with these changes. The paper will endeavour to articulate some important highlights of developments in the global macro-economy, market volatility, political instability etc. and try to derive certain key traits of today's leader to manage a projects and business differently, keeping the right pace with change.
