Bayi Iron & Steel Company (hereinafter referred to as Bayi Steel) is located in northwest of China, a member of Baowu Group. The existing pickling line (hereinafter referred to as "PL") and tandem cold mill (hereinafter referred to as "TCM") was started up in 2005. Most of the equipment, then the second-hand, were worn and failed after 13 years of production. To better meet the market demands, Bayi Steel intends to adjust product mix and expand product varieties and specifications to thinner products and high strength steel (DP). The annual production capacity is to be increased to 1.0 million tonnes. The production line is upgraded with a high level of automation control system and to produce a better quality of strips.
