User and Developer views on grid connected domestic PV systems - Results from the UK Domestic Field Trial

The UK Photovoltaic (PV) Domestic Field Trial (DFT) represents the first wide spread use of PV in domestic buildings in the UK. A total of 474 systems have been installed within 28 projects across the UK, consisting of private and public developments. As part of the PV DFT two surveys have been carried out, the Post Occupancy and the Post Selling Survey. This paper presents the analysis for both surveys, summarising the results in regards to system acceptability and end user satisfaction. It also considers the implications of these findings for future projects/installations in the domestic setting and for the PV industry as a whole.
