Linear low density polyethylenes (LLDPE) of all types constitute a major segment of the polyethylene (PE) blown film market worldwide. It is known that the mechanical properties of the LLDPE films are influenced by molecular structural parameters such as molecular weight, molecular weight distribution in addition to the amount of the short chain comonomer as well as the short chain branch distribution (SCBD) across the width of the copolymer molecular weight distribution.1,2 In addition, the length of the short chain branch could play an important role in governing the mechanical properties - the specific issue that will be addressed in this study.
