Hydrogels based on poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) are well suited for numerous biomedical applications [1]. Among the different approaches to design such hydrogels, free radical homopolymerization of bifunctional PEO macromonomers has raised increasing interest : it is easy to perform and provides access to hydrogels directly in water [2,3] or even in physiological medium [4].
