The present paper has dealt with a new defrosting method by using the frost sublimation phenomenon. The frost sublimation phenomenon occurs below the triple point of water (273.16K, 610.5Pa). The present experimental study was carried out to measure the mass transfer around the frost layer developed on three plover pipes, which were exposed to an impinging jet flow. The morphology of the frost layers was observed by using a CCD camera. Then effect of each parameter for defrosting behavior was investigated, and it was found that velocity of jet flow was the most effective factor to promote frost sublimation.
