We have focused much of our recent activity on the synthesis, physical characterization, and biological characterization of metal- containing polymers. Our aim is the production of drugs for the treatment of undesirable microbes including bacteria and viruses as well as cancers.1-25 For tin, the ability to inhibit a variety of cancer cell lines follows the trend with respect to the alkyltins Bu>Pr>Et>Me>Oc>La with the methyl, octyl, and lauryl all essentially inactive. Thus, our recent focus has involved dibutyltin-derived polymers.
