Development of Performance Predictions and Application Guidance for Wall Retrofit for PPG Mil-Tough~(TM) Polymers

Application guidance and engineering performance parameters are being developed by PPG Industries (PPG) and Protection Engineering Consultants (PEC) for PPG's spray on and trowelable (hand applied) polymers. These materials are offered by PPG (Mil-Tough?) for use as structural wall retrofits for strengthening and debris reduction for blast loading applications. The application guidance has been developed through full scale static and blast testing and analysis of those results by PEC. Both anchored (wall head and base) and unanchored solutions were investigated and are offered by PPG. This paper presents an overview of testing and analysis, and will illustrate the use of the application guidance in an example application.
