摘要

The novel SCANPAC~(TM) MMS (Metec Multi Step) process is a process for producing fully dense parts in the weight range of approx. 50 gram to 5 kg (11 lbs.). As the base starting material is gas atomized powder you can simplified say that the market for this process falls between Metal Injection Moulding (MIM) and Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) in canned containers, all with gas atomized powder as starting raw material.All types of steels and alloys has been tested as well as titanium and its alloys. The novel process is a process for mass production and low cost fabrication which competes with forged, machined and precision cast materials. The properties from this process, mechanical, corrosion etc. are as good as or better than corresponding wrought or cast materials.This paper describes the production of high alloyed austenitic or ferritic /austenitic stainless steel via this process.High alloyed stainless steels used in critical components in energy production, oil industry and chemical industry etc. are important and produced in many products shapes like sheet, plate, tubes, valve parts, fittings, flanges etc.
