It has been demonstrated that the pre-treatment of cotton/polyamide blend fabrics with either Matexil FC-ER or a development cationic fixing agent enables the dyeing of uniform shades on such fabrics. Colour strength values secured are at least twice those of untreated dyeings and, unlike the untreated dyeings, both the cotton and polyamide portions of the fabrics are dyed to an equal level. The dyeings display good to very good fastness to the ISO 105:C06/A2 wash test and excellent fastness to the ISO 105:B02 light fastness test. This pre-treatment and dyeing has been performed on 100% cotton also with a high degree of success.
