Technology and Map-Data for Tomorrow's Mobility-Enabler for fuel economy functions, enhanced safety and Automated Driving

Tomorrows mobility will require a transformation of vehicles to become part of "Internet of Everything" (IoE). Enhancing fuel economy or safety functions and finally enable automated driving will require that vehicles cannot solely rely anymore on the driver and in-vehicle sensors. In addition classical digital navigation maps are mostly outdated and not precise enough. Vehicles become a part of the cloud, using swarm intelligence to collect sensor data, current traffic situations and updated route information (e.g. traffic signs, topology, road furniture).To fulfill future mobility requirements this information needs to be precise, reliable and up-to-date.
