摘要

Having high fuel efficiency is getting much more important in the automotive industry. Therefore, importance of reducing mass of the vehicle is increasing. For these reasons, reinforced composites, which has higher strength than the steel systems, are used more than ever. Two hybrid design approaches for the bumper reinforcement beams are presented in order to reduce mass while maintaining a sufficient crash performance compared to the steel bumper systems.
