In this study, crack propagation behavior of three kinds of unidirectional fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites (CF/PA66, CF/PEEK and CF/PPS) with Micro-braiding technique was investigated. 3-point bending tests in 90 degree direction to the fiber direction were conducted and optical microscopy observations were performed. The crack selectivity propagated through the resin unimpregnated region where impregnation of matrix resin was not sufficient. However, as this region became smaller, crack did not propagate in this region. We defined a value of this limit size as critical unimpregnated ratio. Three kinds of composites had different critical unimpregnated ratio each other. Moreover, for application to a true product, quasi-isotropic laminates were molded and plate impact tests were conducted.
