Implementation of an urban transport policy-Case study of Congo, Brazzaville

摘要

On looking at the historical account of urban transports in the past four decades, it can be concluded, without taking the risk of being mistaken, that for the very first time in Congo the process followed to set up a urban transport policy is in keeping with a global logic of an economy under structural adjusting on the one hand, and, on the other hand, with one of a very large national co-ordination through a round table session, from which are derived all the main elements of the current policy of urban transports. This paper, which aims at presenting the process used, and which had the approval of all the actors concerned by urban transports, is made of three chapters which deal with: -The process followed with a view to organize the round table session, -The diagnosis of the sector, -Some elements of sector related policy
