To reduce the production cost of deep drawing steel sheets in the company, a new kind of extra low carbon steel sheet, namely RSC rolled without further annealing treatment as well as cold rolling, has been developed commercially instead of 08Al, an old kind of low carbon Al-skilled steel sheet annealed for long period after cold rolling. Subsepuently, the microstructures have been studied to RSC steel sheet that was hot rolled in the alpha -region and gamma -region, respectively, and the precipitation of cementite during annealing has been discussed taking into consideration of both the carbon content and annealing temperature of 08Al steel sheet. It has been also shown that the properties of RSC steel sheet are affected clearly by the hot rolling temperature. The obtained results led to the conclusion that the gamma -region hot rolling under warm coiling conditions is a very effective means of improving the formability of RSC steel sheet.
