We have synthesized a number of ,organotin-containing polymers for various reasons. A number of them have shown outstanding anticancer and antiviral agents properties as well as the expected antibacterial properties. We emphasized the use of Lewis bases that themselves offered some biological activity including antiviral with acyclovir and a number of antibacterial agents such as norfloxacin, ampicillin and ciprofloxacin. In general, the ability to inhibit cell growth, with respect to the alkyltins is Bu>Pr>Et>Me with the methyl, octyl, and laury all essentially inactive. Because of .this we often focused only on the study of organotin polymers based on the dibutyltin dichloride monomer. Even so, we have also synthesized and studied a number of other organotin polymers.
