This work analyzes the design of an effective questionnaire for teachers of music in secondary andbachelor education about educational good practices. The main objective of the questionnaire isfocused on a collection of data that will allow us to know how teachers develop their professional workin their schools. The purpose of this instrument is to help the observer to discern what kind of teachershave answered the questionnaire, through the collected data, to select those ones who fit to ourconception of good teachers for a qualitative and depth analyses by register their know-how skills inaudiovisual documents. These documents will be suitable for being examples and models toimplement the training of future teachers in this subject who are participating at the moment in theMaster studies of secondary education in the educational branch of music at the University ofValencia. Within this Master studies one can find in most cases the following specific student profile: agroup of students who have just finished their studies at a Conservatory; during four years of training,they have chosen mostly the instructional profile for being an interpreter, so they have delved intoinstrumental technique and also they have been trained for a correct musical interpretation. In asmaller number of cases, students have focused their specialty on music pedagogy, musical directionor composition. From this group, those who graduated in pedagogy are the ones who have moreknowledge about the teaching of music although pedagogy, in one sense, has been oriented towardspedagogy of teaching in conservatories which is qualitatively different from the one that has to beimplemented in secondary schools. In these kind of schools students deal with the instruction subjecton a compulsory basis by following the official lesson-plans and on an optional basis only in somecases although learning contents are not as professionalized as those related to the conservatoryschools.For these reasons, a team of professors of the master studies have felt the need to document goodteaching practices of high school teachers of music in order to create a theoretical corpus of musicdidactics in this knowledge subject.This work is part of a pre-competitive project approved by the official Service of Research andScientific Policy of the University of Valencia.
