(270) PROJECT-BASED LEARNING APPLIED TO SOCIAL PROJECTS TO HELP TEEN PREGNANTS AND MOTHERS AT RISK OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION

The early pregnancy involves health risks of teens and child, psychological disorders, and also hassocial, economic and educational implications. There is evidence of the effectiveness of programsdesigned to minimize these negative effects by early incorporation into pregnancy monitoringprograms, as well as educational and social inclusion. Universidad Europea has signed an agreementwith Fundacion Madrina, a NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) focused on social andpsychological support for young pregnant women at risk of social exclusion. In this collaborationseveral initiatives are being launched. The first one is to support from the perspective of technologyand education the current NGO projects. It consists of providing the basic technologies to pave theway for further common development. The final goal is to develop a comprehensive educationalplatform to inform and train users in the 3 identified areas: health, psychology-social work, andeducation-employability. In this paper we focus on the work that is now done with that NGO. How thecollaboration was organized, how we have involved students through project-based learning, theresults obtained, and the future work will be explained in detail.
