This paper attempts to study the usability aspects of introducing Animated Pedagogical Agents (APA)in multimedia application for statistical education. The application was developed with two agents;;male and female to accompany students in their learning process. The students were given a choiceto choose the most preferred agent to accompany them. Apart from the application usability, we alsowanted to identify the most preferred animation type (male or female). The application was built andtested on 82 undergraduate students from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam. The participantswere only required to learn Numerical Descriptive Measures via APA approach of learning and ausability questionnaire was distributed after viewing the learning application. The usability study looksat the aspects of Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Satisfaction, Behavioural Intention toUse, Value and Attitude towards the use of APA in learning Statistics. The study had identified thatfemale APA was the preferred animation type. A detailed result of the usability study is discussed inthis paper.
