Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, adopted by the United Nations on December 13, 2006 (signed by the Polish government on March 20, 2007 and ratified by Poland on September 6, 2012) is currently the most important legal act regulating the rights of persons with disabilities. However, are the laws of persons with disabilities in Poland respected? Are there areas of life, individual and social activity, accessibility to existing social systems in which, according to people with disabilities, they are discriminated against on account of disability? Answers to the questions were given by the project: "Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - a Common Deal", implemented in Poland in the period 2016-2018. The leader of the project was the Polish Forum for the Disabled, contractors: Warmia and Mazury Local Council of the Disabled, Lublin Forum for the Organization of Disabled People - Provincial Parliament, Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, Domański Zakrzewski Palinka law firm. 1641 people with various types of disabilities and people associated with disability issues participated in the implementation of the first stage of the project (2016-2017). The aim was to identify areas in which people with disabilities experience discrimination. During stage II (2017-2018), legal and non-legal solutions were proposed to liquidate the areas discriminating against people with disabilities. One of such areas was the area of education. The article presents the most important manifestations and scope of discrimination of people with disabilities in Poland within the area of education and conclusions regarding the implementation of the idea of inclusive education, as the most suitable form of education for disabled students, and consistent with the spirit promoted by the "Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities".
