Three-roll-push-bending is a kinematic forming process which enables individual manufacture of spatially bent parts. However, producing parts without shape deviations to the target geometry is a non-trivial task as the bending contour is mainly influenced by geometry-, process- and tool-related parameters. Perpendicular position and shape deviations can potentially occur between the measured bending geometry and the idealized target design obtained from CAD. This study therefore introduces a product planning system to facilitate manufacture-oriented modeling of freeform bend tubes. This modeling is utilized to estimate and compensate shape deviations by simulating adjustment factors for the bending process. Based on the manufacture-oriented modeling, the machine parameters for production of bending geometries are determined.
