A Summary of Studies on China Fashion Design in the 1910s to the 1940s

摘要

This paper offers a systemic study on the origins of early modern fashion design in China and the specific nature of designers' creations. It also analyses what kinds of groups the designers belong to, as well as the characteristics of their designs and the mass audience for them. As the study shows, fashion design of this time not only played a vital role in the fashion and modernization of Chinese dress, but also provided strong impetus to the fashion and trends of the time.
