WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR APPROACH TO DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION TREATMENT?

Despite recent efforts to deal effectively with drug and alcohol addiction, there has been an increase in substance abusing. While some individuals eventually respond to a variety of treatment approaches, a hard core of abusers do not. Many drug addicts turn to antisocial behaviour and a criminal way of life as a direct result of their addiction and the need to feed their drug use habit that is often combined with alcohol addiction. This is especially the case for hardened drug abusers who have not responded to the treatment being offered.
