摘要

Leukocyte trafficking and lymphocyte homing are dynamic and complicated biologic processes intrinsic to the pathogenesis of inflammatory and immune responses, and many disease processes. Common methods for genetic manipulation of the mouse have allowed development of experimental murine models to examine particular components of the leukocyte adhesion cascade and the process of leukocyte extravasation. The same methods have also generated many murine models of disease that have proven useful in understanding both murine and human disease pathogenesis. Our work combines murine models of altered leukocyte recruitment with models of atherosclerosis to study the pathogenesis of this vascular disease.
