Structure-activity relationship study of the insecticidal peptide, LaIT1, isolated from the venom of the scorpion Liocheles australasiae

LalTl is an insecticidal toxin isolated from Liocheles australasiae. In this study, to determine residues crucial for insect toxicity, several analogs were synthesized in which basic residues were substituted to Ala and tested for toxicity. The result clearly indicated that Arg~(13) and Arg~(15) were important in expressing the activity.
