LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION USING COOLING WATER BLOWDOWN: AN INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE APPROACH

Cooling towers, fluid coolers and evaporative condensers (hereinafter collectively "towers") are systems used to augment comfort cooling, process cooling and refrigeration in multi-story residential, commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. Towers are energy efficient systems, which mainly provide cooling condenser water to assist a building's chilled water or refrigeration system. Towers are 20 - 40% more energy efficient than comparable air-cooled condensing systems, and that explains why their use is so prevalent in Southern California.
