Sensitive Screening of Abused Drugs in Raw Urine and Blood by using Direct Analysis in Real Time Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry

摘要

Direct and sensitive analysis of illicit drugs in raw urine and blood by ambient ionization-MS/MS employing a direct analysis in real time (DART) ion source and a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer is described. Positive ion mode scanning was used in combination with the multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) for improved sensitivity of screening the unknowns. The method is demonstrated for fast analysis of 4 commonly abused drugs in seconds. Positive results were screened out of a sus pected criminal from his both urine and blood samples without any pretreatment or enzym e hydrolysis. The approach described here is fast, direct and sensitive enough for forensic screening and confirmation of abused drugs from various biological fluids.
