摘要

Higher energy collision induced dissociation can be used as a fragmentation method in routine data dependent top N style proteomics survey experiments. Trap-HCD yields, on average, 15percent more identifications than CID when Mascot based optimized search conditions are utilized. Rapid scan rate doubles the rate of mass analysis and yields an effective scan speed 5-10percent higher than normal scan rate. Rapid scan rate experiments deliver approximately 5-10percent more identifications on average than normal scan rate experiments.
